The brightness of the florescent UV black light diminishes over time. Replace it every season to maintain optimal bug zapping efficacy.

  1. Unplug the device and un-hang the bug zapper. Allow it to sit for 30 seconds for the electrical charge to dissipate.
  2. Remove the collection tray.
  3. Unscrew both machine screws securing the grate.
  4. Remove the grate and the rubber tube guard.
  5. Wearing gloves, gently pull the black light out of the housing.
  6. Wearing gloves, insert the replacement black light making sure that the four pins are properly seated into the socket.
  7. Place the grate and the rubber tube guard on the end of the new black light. Secure them into position with the two machine screws.
  8. Return the collection tray back into the bottom of the housing. Rotate clockwise to lock it in place.
  9. Plug it in to test it out.
