What is the optimal wood condition for splitting?

  • This log splitter is designed to split standard size logs [max log diameter: 8 inch (20.3 cm); max log length 18 inch (46 cm); min log length: 13.5 inch (34.3cm)]. Do not split oversized logs.
  • Do not attempt to split “hard” wood that requires more than 5 seconds to split.
  • Check the log prior to splitting to ensure it is free from foreign objects that may be projected or cause damage to the machine (ie.: nails, wire, etc.).
  • Ensure that the end of the log is cut square and all branches have been cut flush.
